Maker Faire Africa is a celebration of African ingenuity, innovation and creation. Here you will find the Makers who showed their work at the 2010 event in Nairobi Kenya. Work ranges from time saving devices for agriculture to alternative energy sources from design with recycled objects to social media applications for mobile phones. Slum CODE is a non profit organisation which develops strategies and concepts for community based social development in low income communities within Huruma/Mathare and partners in Kibera.
In August 2010 they ran a SLUM Fest IV which was very similar to Maker Faire which was then held in Starehe Constituency.

Slum Code works with the most hard hit folks in Huruma/Mathare and partners in Kibera. They are currently looking to partner with org's to help them take their Slumidia program to the next level.
They need video cameras and editing equipment.
